2008 was a rough year in America. The stock market crashed, thousands of hard working people lost their jobs, and confidence in American businesses were at an all-time low. Suffice it to say, it probably wasn't the best time to start a small business.
Cut to a tiny back carriage house in Los Angeles, California where two friends, Alex Meiners and Max Hellmann, were busy screen printing small batches of graphic-tees and live printing at various events to supplement their income.
Despite having full-time jobs, their passion for high-quality screen printing drove them to burn the midnight oil. Then, 2009 came knocking on their carriage house door. On the same day in early December, Alex and Max lost their jobs.
With nothing left to lose, Family Industries was born. Alex and Max took their savings, ditched the backyard carriage house, rented a small warehouse, and went all in. At a time when American ingenuity felt entirely lost, these two friends were determined to build the company of their dreams. Ten years later, that dream has become a reality.
Our customers are our family, and like our name implies, Family Industries puts family first. In an oversaturated market, Alex and Max’s unique backgrounds in design and marketing sets Family Industries a part from the rest. Collaboration, flexibility, a focus on proficiency, and an unmatched enthusiasm for our work is what makes us the preeminent print shop in Los Angeles.
Our confidence in the work we do is thanks, in part, to having a variety of the highest quality screen printing presses, expanded print, embroidery, and sublimation options, a plethora of design resources, and our well-versed industry knowledge. With a highly experienced and dedicated staff, Family Industries has the manpower to print 7,000 shirts a day.
Our shop is located in Downtown Los Angeles near the historic North Spring Street Bridge and Los Angeles Historic State Park. We're always looking to grow our family so come by, say hi, and let’s make some magic happen!
